Why BLAXSTAR Exists (And What You’ll See Here)

by dyxribo 3 min read

BLAXSTAR really just started with me being called a few names throughout my life:

Computer Freak, Mad Scientist, Tech Hoarder.

If something has screws, panels, or a weird little port on the back, I have to know what it does. For as long as i can remember i've been this way; I truly never grew out of taking stuff apart, fixing it, breaking it again, and then figuring out how to make it better. At some point I realized:

oh, this isn’t just a hobby— this is how I think, how I help people, and how I want to show up in tech!

So BLAXSTAR is that very passion, manifested into a business.

What We’re Actually About

At the core, it’s simple:

1. NO MYSTERY BOXES.

If it’s your tech, you should understand what’s going on with it. No gatekeeping, no hiding behind “it’s complicated.”

2. FULL TRANSPARENCY.

Whether it’s a repair ticket, a software sprint, or a custom build consult, you’re gonna know what broke, what we’re doing, what your options are, and what it costs.

3. RESPECT > VIBES.

We’re not talking down to you because you don’t know what NVMe or SATA is. That’s literally our job.

Accessibility, Performance, and Dignity (Non-Negotiables)

There are three things we don’t play about:

1. ACCESSIBILITY.

  • keyboard-first navigation where possible.
  • screen reader–friendly structure .
  • not burying essential info in tiny, low-contrast text.

Tech should be usable when you’re tired, stressed, disabled, neurodivergent, or just over it.

2. PERFORMANCE.

  • systems that boot fast, sites that load fast, workflows that don’t fight you.
  • we care just as much about how something feels to use as the specs on paper.

3. DIGNITY.

  • clear language in proposals and tickets
  • honest convo about budget vs ambition
  • no shaming people for “old” gear, weird setups, or not knowing the jargon

If we can’t do the work in a way that respects your time, your money, and your brain, it’s not a BLAXSTAR project.

What You’ll See on This Blog

This space is us thinking out loud and showing the work, not just the polished end result. Expect things like:

  • HARDWARE BREAKDOWNS. — what’s inside the machines we refurbish, why we chose certain parts, what fails the most and why.
  • DIAGNOSTIC FLOWCHARTS. — how we go from “it’s acting weird” to “here’s the actual root cause.”
  • BUILD & PROTOTYPING DIARIES — the messy middle of trying stuff, tweaking, testing, and occasionally cursing at it.
  • BEHIND THE SCENES / COMMUNITY WORK. — collaborations, accessibility fixes, and real problems people bring us that never make it into a shiny case study.

Some posts will be super technical. Some will be more “here’s how we think about this problem as humans first, nerds second.”

Both matter!

Your Turn: Bring Us Your Questions!

This blog isn’t just us talking at you. It’s an open invite.

Send us:

  • the weird IT issue that’s been haunting you for months
  • “is this even possible?” ideas you’ve been sitting on
  • access / usability challenges that nobody else has taken seriously

If it plugs in, powers on, or connects to something, we’re probably interested.
If it affects how you work, create, or communicate, we definitely care.

BLAXSTAR is here to make tech feel less like a wall and more like a teammate.
Welcome in. 💫
